Dorothy E. Hutchins

WHITEFIELD, NH- Dorothy E. Hutchins (Emerson) "Dot" passed away at home on August 29, 2018 after a long illness. Dorothy was born on March 4, 1929 in Johnson, VT, to Dallas and Susie Emerson (French). She married Archie Hutchins, who predeceased her in 1972. She later married Stuart Riley, who also predeceased her. She also raised a foster son Alan Allen, who she adored, from the time he was 11, he also predeceased her in 2009.

Dorothy worked for Copley Hospital for several years before moving to Stratham, NH where she retired from Data General in Portsmouth, NH.

She is survived by close friends, she thought of as family, Don Gardner and Roberta Olson, who took care of her right up until the end. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, great great nieces and nephews and several great great great nieces and nephews. Other predeceased family members include her sister, Maeford Hoadley, and brothers Ralph and Ernest Emerson.

At her request, there will be no services. Burial will take place in Waterville on October 13th at noon.
