Douglass C. Heinmuller

April 30, 1943 — March 14, 2012

Heinmuller, Douglass C. of Lunenburg, VT and Baltimore, MD died on March 14, 2012 at Northeast Vermont Regional Hospital, St. Johnsbury of leukemia, at age 68. He was born in Baltimore, MD to parents Carl, Jr. and Carolyn Heinmuller, who predeceased him.

A 1961 graduate of the McDonogh School, McDonogh, MD, he served in US Army Intelligence in Germany, 1964-67. In 1977 he married Patty Windsor of Baltimore and they moved to Bethlehem, NH in 1978, where they had a son, Matthew. Doug founded a thriving business restoring fuel system components for antique and classic cars. He also provided carburetors to the US Army for the M48 tank. An avid railroad enthusiast, he enjoyed travelling the rails in New England in his Fairmont Motor Car. He also bought and sold antiques, collected railroad lanterns, and Lionel electric trains.

He had many friends who provided much caring and support during his illness. He is survived by his former wife Patty Breen of Littleton, NH, their son Matthew, of Lincoln, NH, and two brothers, David A. of Catonsville, MD and Dwight R. of Sparks, MD.

Bailey Funeral Home, Lancaster, NH assisted with arrangements. In lieu of flowers, please send donations in his name to the American Cancer Society. A memorial service will be held at the Victory Baptist Church, McIntyre School Apartments, 16 Highland St., Whitefield, NH, on Thursday, March 22, at 7:30 pm, the Rev. Daniel Boyce, officiating.
