WHITEFIELD – Edith “Edie” Worcester, 66, longtime resident of Whitefield, passed away on September 19, 2023.
She is survived by her loving husband Mark Worcester; son Warren Lenehan and wife Crystal of West Virginia; daughter, Hannah Emmons and husband Joseph of Williston, VT; a grandson Jameson Lenehan; and step-grandchildren Piper Smith and Macee Smith.
Edie was the seventh of ten children born to Warren Mason Sr. and Eleanor (Boudreau) Mason, growing up on the family farms in Merrimack and Whitefield, NH.
She worked for many years for Dr. Wally Knight at the Whitefield Animal Hospital. She then worked at the Whitefield Elementary School as a custodian alongside her husband Mark. For a couple of years, she was employed at Jiffy Mart in Whitefield. She served on the Whitefield Conservation Committee.
Edie was passionate about antiques, animals, and gardening. She was an avid reader and enjoyed yard sales and flea markets. She enjoyed taking trips to the Williston/Burlington area and visiting Hannah.
Surviving siblings include Dr. Warren Mason, Jr. (Annette) of Meredith, NH, Timothy Mason of Ossipee, NH, Stephen Mason (Mary) of Littleton, Elizabeth Parker (Kevin) of Peterborough, NH, Laura Mason (Alan) of Whitefield, Lynne Davis of Oneco, CT, Anne Mason of Concord, NH; and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents; sisters Marilyn Woodman, Marjorie Mason; a nephew John Mason; and a sister-in-law Debbie Mason.
A graveside service will be held Monday, October 2, at 11:00AM in the Park Street Cemetery, Whitefield. Life Cycle celebrant Debbie Szauter will officiate. A Celebration of Life will follow at the McIntyre School Apartments event room.
