Edward R. Alenckis

GILMAN - Edward R. Alenckis, 68, of Baptist Hill Road, died peacefully, Friday morning, October 6, 2017, with his longtime fiancée Carla Amadon by his side.
Edward was born in Waterbury, CT, on March 29, 1949, the son of John and Marcelle L. (Beaudry) Alenckis. Raised in Waterbury he graduated from high school and moved to Cape Cod where he operated a refrigeration business. He eventually came to the North Country where he ran his own auto repair shop.
His passion was always truck driving and drove trucks for ITC Interstate Trucking Corporation of America and C.R. England Inc. He enjoyed being on the road and socializing with the people he knew and met during his travels. He also enjoyed fishing, movies, and buying and selling antiques and collectibles. He would make many of his sales and purchases at local auctions and online.
He is survived by his fiancée Carla of Gilman; a brother Raymond Alenckis and his wife Michelle of South Carolina; and several nieces and nephews.
