Edward 'Ted' Francis Mcgee

LANCASTER - Edward F. McGee Jr. 84, of North Road, died at his home Monday morning September 24, 2012.

Born February 6, 1928 in Ware, MA, he was the son of Edward F. McGee and Catherine A. (Curran) McGee.

Edward "Ted" McGee grew up in the village of Wheelwright in the town of Hardwick, MA.  He was a graduate of Hardwick High School class of 1946.  After serving in the US Navy he attended a vocational institute in Boston, MA, studying air condition, refrigeration and plumbing.

In 1952 he married Lois M. Sinclair of Barre, MA, and moved to Lancaster where he farmed and raised his family on the North Road.  Later he took up plumbing working for his brother William McGee Co. Inc. retiring from Nels Nelson and Sons Plumbing and Heating at 62 years of age so he could resume his love of farming.

Ted was a Communicant of All Saints Church, Lancaster.  He was also a 4th degree knight and past grand knight of the Knights of Columbus and member of the Men of St. Joseph

He is survived by his wife of 60 years; four daughters Katherine A. McGee of Bradenton, FL, Mary M. McGee of Oak Ridge, TN, Cecilia A Rugh and her husband William of Lancaster, Ellen F. St. Cyr and her husband Christopher of Lancaster; three sons, Timothy E. McGee and wife Joyce of Lancaster, Kevin P. McGee and wife Gail of Lancaster, Thomas S. McGee and wife Melissa of Stratham, NH;  11 grandchildren, Tommy Witte and wife Joy of Huntsville, AL, Stephen Witte and wife Melissa of Fayetteville, NC; Alexander Tardiff of Lunenburg, VT, Chelsea McGee of West Palm, FL, Graham Cabrey of Wilmington, DL, Michael McGee, Kyle McGee, Megan McGee, Meredith St. Cyr, Andrew St. Cyr all of Lancaster, Seamus McGee of Stratham, NH; and many nieces nephews and cousins.

Visiting hours will be held Friday, September 28

th

from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at the Bailey Funeral Home in Lancaster.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday morning at 9:00 AM at All Saints Church, Lancaster.  Reverend Matthew Mason, pastor, will officiate.  Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lancaster.
