Edward Richard Stevens, Jr., 61, of Dalton, NH, passed away April 30 in his home
after a period of declining health
Ed was born to Edward R. and Eleanor (Baker) Stevens of Jefferson, NH at Weeks
Memorial Hospital in Lancaster, NH in 1958.
Ed lived and attended school in Whitefield. He then served in the Navy and was
honorably discharged in 1983. He had submitted a patent request in 1979 for (are
you ready for this?) an electric car generator. He was employed with a Union job
out of Manchester, NH where he connected with a pipeline company out of
Shreveport, Louisiana who employed him as a purchasing agent, traveling across
the United States, ending up as an equipment manager. His nickname on the job was
'Large and In charge'. When Delta Gulf dissolved in 2006 Ed came home to his roots
in Whitefield/Dalton. Here he enjoyed family and friends, hunting, fishing, shooting,
4-wheeling, and snow machining.
He was predeceased by his father Edward R. Stevens in 1987, his brother-in-law
Rodney White in 2009, and his mother Eleanor B Stevens in 2017.
He leaves behind a sister Cynthia White of Dalton NH (son Camden and Kelly of Loudon
NH and their four children Lanee, Ali, Josie, a sister Cathy and Thomas
Dubreuil of Dalton NH (daughter Jaime and Patrick Payer of Campton NH and their
children Grayson and Everlee); (daughter Koryn and Ben Ingerson of Whitefield NH
and their daughters Lillian, Laycee and Lennon); (daughter Haley and her husband
Michael Sheppard of Littleton NH and their children Abigail a brother Scott
and Christine Stevens of Dalton NH (son Garrett Stevens and family of Munroe NH);
(daughter Gabrielle Stevens of Dalton NH and fiancé); a sister Cheryl and husband Scott
Ramsdell of Morrisville NC (son Robert and fiancé); (daughter Tara and Sawyer Crossan
of Wake Forest NC).
Ed will be forever remembered for his passion of family, lively conversations,
humor and political views, and his bigger than life heart. He will also be remembered
for his sarcastic drawn out 'ohhh pleasseee.' But the vision of his index finger held up
while he spoke, "I'll tell you what you need to do" will be dearly missed by all of us...
A graveside service with military honors will be held Wednesday, July 15th at 10AM, in Park Street Cemetery, Whitefield.
