LANCASTER- Elaine S. Barnett 85, of Railroad Street, died peacefully on Friday February 16, 2007 at Weeks Medical Center, Lancaster.

Mrs. Barnett was born in Bloomfield, Vermont on December 25, 1921 the daughter of Floyd and Maude (Trufant) Shoff.

Elaine was a graduate of Stratford High School and attended Lyndon Teachers College. In 1945 she married Harold E. Barnett. For the last 41 years her most cherished time was spent at her summer cottage on Seymour Lake in Morgan, Vermont. She also enjoyed her time at Colonel Town with the Seniors on the Move. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and a friend to all.

She was a member of the Advent Christian Church, Whitefield.

Family members include a daughter, Patricia B. Lee and her husband Brian of Lancaster, a stepdaughter Beverly A. Campbell of Enfield, NH; a local granddaughter Karie Elaine Bennett and her husband Randy of Whitefield; other grandchildren include two grandsons; two granddaughters; three local great-grandchildren Elaina Madeline Bennett, Amanda Bennett, Daniel Bennett, six other great-grandchildren and her beloved cat Dusty. She was predeceased by, her husband Harold E. Barnett on November 6, 1998 and by a stepson Robert Barnett in 1988.

There are no calling hours. A celebration of Elaine's life will be held Wednesday morning February 21, at 11:00 AM, at the Advent Christian Church, Whitefield. Reverend Lou Going, pastor will officiate. Immediately following the service a luncheon will be held in the fellowship hall. Burial will be held in the spring in Northumberland Cemetery.
