Elaine Cormier-Harris

April 24, 1957 — November 22, 2024

It is with great sadness that we say goodbye to Elaine Cormier-Harris, 67 of Gilman, VT. After a short battle with liver cancer, Elaine passed away at home on November 22, 2024.
She was born in St. Johnsbury, Vt. On April 24, 1957, to Martin E. Cormier and Jean (Downer) Cormier of Danville, Vt. Elaine spent her entire childhood in Danville at her family's farm and graduated from Danville High in 1975. She chose to spend her entire life working in retail.

On September 9, 2006 she married her best friend and life partner, Philip Harris and they spent 18 years together making their home in Gilman.
They were both lovers of nature and animals, and she always had a pet by her side. Her greatest joy was spending time with Phil, hiking and kayaking, especially if she could find a waterfall to sit by, or a family of loons to watch and photograph.

She is survived by her Husband Philip Harris, stepchildren Rachel Johnson of California, Jacob Robinson and Laura Vigue both of New Hampshire. She also leaves behind her brothers, Wayne Cormier & partner Carol Stiles of Lancaster, NH & Larry Cormier & wife Brenda of Danville, VT. Along with many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, Martin & Jean Cormier and a brother, Martin Jr. "Sonny" Cormier.

At Elaine's request, there will be no calling hours. A Memorial Service, followed by a Celebration of Life Gathering will take place at 2pm on Saturday, December 7th, 2024 at All Saints Episcopal Church, 35 School Street, Littleton. A committal service will be held at 11am on Saturday, June 14th at Danville Greens Cemetery in Danville, VT. At Elaine's request, in lieu of flowers, she would like donations to be made to Riverside Rescue, 236 Riverside Avenue, Lunenburg, VT, 05906.
