WHITEFIELD - Eleanor Baker Stevens, 85 died Sunday Evening, June 25th, 2017 at Country Village Genesis Eldercare Center, Lancaster, NH, after a lengthy illness.

Eleanor was born in Whitefield on July 8, 1931, the daughter of Leslie and Carlena (Holmes) Baker. She was the 2nd daughter of eight brothers and sisters; Leslie Baker, Dorothy Baker Johnson and Paul Baker all deceased and all of East Douglas, Massachusetts, Janet Baker Johnson Beaton, Maurice Baker, and Claire Baker Wright (all deceased), all of Whitefield. Barbara Baker Colburn of California, and Glen Baker Marro of Whitefield.

She is survived by five children; Cynthia Stevens White of Dalton, (Rodney, deceased) Cathy Stevens Dubreuil of Guildhall, Vt., (Thomas), Edward R. Stevens of Dalton, Scott Stevens of Dalton, (Christine),and Cherie Stevens Ramsdell of Cary, North Carolina, (Scott); Eight grandchildren, and nine great grandchildren, two sisters and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

"Ellie" worked for several years as an aid to the teachers at the CD McIntyre Elementary School in Whitefield, a job she very much enjoyed. She finished her working years at Nuroco Woodworking, which later became Brown Street Furniture, located in Whitefield, NH. Where she gained an appreciation for woodworking as a hobby.

For a number of years her job was that of grandmother, caring for and carting
around her grandchildren, enlisting their help picking up rocks and roadside
plants for her yard, and enjoying the fruits of their labors.

A memorial service will be held Thursday morning, June 29th at 11:00 A.M. At the Whitefield Christian Church. Reverend Lou Going, Pastor, will officiate. Burial will follow at Park Street Cemetery.
