WHITEFIELD- Elinor E. Desjardins, 88, died Monday morning November 16, 2009, at the Coos County Nursing Home in Berlin.
Mrs. Desjardins was born in Groveton on July 15, 1921, a daughter of Marion Bruce Eastwood and Hazel (Rice) Eastwood.
Elinor graduated from Lancaster Academy in 1939. She worked for many years as a Lab Technician, working at the Morrison Hospital in Whitefield, Weeks Memorial Hospital and the Suncoast Hospital in Clearwater, FL. She attended WWII Army reunions with her husband across Europe and the United States.
Her interests included reading, crossword puzzles, collecting frogs and at one time she was on a bowling league.
She was a Communicant of St. Matthew's Church in Whitefield.
Family members include her four children Peter J. Desjardins and his wife Marlene, Lynne D. Nolet and her husband Robert, the Honorable Paul D. Desjardins and his wife Rodie and Anthony B. Desjardins and his wife Constance, 15 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Her husband Emile S. Desjardins, her sister Carol McDonald and her brother Robert Eastwood predeceased her.
There are no calling hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday morning, November 21, at 11:00 AM, at St. Matthew's Church in Whitefield. Father Raymond Ball, pastor, will officiate. Burial will follow in Park Street Cemetery.
