Elizabeth S. "Betsy" Brooks

October 2, 1952 — February 8, 2022

WHITEFIELD - Elizabeth "Betsy" Brooks, 69, of Highland Street, died at her home Tuesday morning February 8th, 2022, after a recent period of failing health.

Betsy was born in 1952 the youngest child of Reginald and Muriel (Rexford) Brooks. She enjoyed a wonderful childhood growing up in Gilman, VT with her older sister Catherine (Cathi). At age 10, after the sudden death of her father, they moved to Whitefield, NH where she lived until her graduation from WMRHS in 1970. After working in Concord, NH for a short time she moved south to central Florida where she eventually attended LPN school and worked many years in a hospital while furthering her studies as an advanced LPN. It was a career she loved, and she met many special patients and friends along the way. In 2006 she heeded the pull to return to her roots and moved back to Whitefield. Her Christian faith and her love for friends and family were priority, though she maintained friendship with Sheila and Ray in Florida. She enjoyed walks and rides along the back roads and in nature when she was able.

She is survived by a brother-in-law Tom Suitor, and three stepsiblings, Sheila Caron , Rick Mahn, and Russ Mahn, as well as many special cousins.

She was predeceased by her father Reggy; her mother Muriel Mahn; her sister Cathi; her stepfather Richard "Pete" Mahn. Also predeceased by her maternal grandparents Richard and Elizabeth Rexford; paternal grandparents Philip and Alice Brooks; and several aunts, uncles, and a cousin.

Per Betsy's wishes there will be no services or calling hours. Anyone that wishes may make a donation to the Trinity United Methodist Church in Whitefield, NH.
