Elizabeth T. "Betty" Gainer

LANCASTER - Elizabeth T. "Betty" Gainer, 87, of Cemetery Street, died Monday morning June 15, 2009, at Weeks Medical Center, Lancaster. Mrs. Gainer was born in Jefferson on February 6, 1922, the daughter of Paul E. and Katherine (Gilles) Thayer. Betty was raised in Jefferson and has been a 58 year resident of Lancaster. She devoted her life as a homemaker, mother, and grandmother. She was a Communicant of All Saints Church, Lancaster. Family members include a son Michael Gainer of Lancaster; two daughters, Sharon Kenison, of Lunenburg, Patricia Gainer, Lancaster; six grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and a brother Theodore Clukay of Jefferson. Her husband Ronald R. Gainer predeceased her in 1998. Visiting hours will be held Wednesday evening June 17, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the Bailey Funeral Home, Lancaster. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday morning at 10:00 AM at All Saints Church, Lancaster. Rev. Raymond Ball, pastor will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lancaster.
