Elizabeth Ann Stinehour

June 26, 1925 — May 7, 2019

Elizabeth Ann (Maguire) Stinehour, known to many as "Minan", passed away peacefully, surrounded by members of her family on Tuesday, May 7, at The Morrison in Whitefield, New Hampshire, at the age of 93. She lived most of her life in Lunenburg, Vermont. She was born June 26, 1925, at the Morrison Hospital in Whitefield, New Hampshire to Patrick and Mary Agnes Maguire.

Elizabeth was raised by her maternal grandmother, Elizabeth Plunkett, in Whitefield. She graduated from Whitefield High School, Class of 1943, and graduated from Mount Saint Mary's College in Hookset, New Hampshire in 1947. She married Roderick (Rocky) Stinehour, her high school sweetheart and classmate, in 1947. After Rocky's graduation from Dartmouth, they moved to Lunenburg, Vermont, to their home of 64 years, where they raised their family of eight children. Elizabeth is survived by seven of her eight children -- Stephen, Ann, Christopher, Mary, Margie, Kate and John, and was a loving "Mamie" to her 14 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband of 68 years, Rocky, and her son, Peter.

Elizabeth was an active member of several local organizations during her free moments from raising eight children: All Saints Tabernacle Society, Weeks Memorial Hospital Women's Auxiliary, Lunenburg PTA, worked as a volunteer for the local Hospice, and volunteered over 20 years in various departments at the Weeks Memorial Hospital, where she had been employed in the Physical Therapy Department.

Elizabeth's example of love, compassion and devotion to her family and others, her desire to live simply and her commitment to her faith has enriched us all.

Funeral services will be held at All Saints Catholic Church, Friday, May 10, at 11:00am. Visiting hours will be at the Bailey Funeral Home on Thursday, May 9, 5:00-7:00pm in Lancaster, NH.

Memorial donations in Elizabeth's name can be made to Colonel Town Recreation Department or Lancaster Food Pantry.
