GROVETON, NH- Evelyn M. (Thompson) Hutchinson, 59, died peacefully at her home with her family at her bedside, Tuesday morning June 27, 2006, after a long battle with lung disease.
Mrs. Hutchinson was born in Lancaster on October 21, 1946, the daughter of Alvin "Ike" Thompson and Norma (Lund) Thompson.
Evelyn resided most of her lifetime in the North Country, including Lancaster, Whitefield, and for the past 25 years, in Groveton. She was employed off and on at shoe and other factories. However, she was very talented in interior design, cake decorating, and woodworking. Her other hobbies included gardening, yard saleing, and arts & crafts. Most of her life was spent giving to others in any way that she could. She dedicated herself to her husband and only daughter, and later, to her two beloved grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, Donald Hutchinson; one daughter, Samantha Laundry and her companion, Jeffrey McMann; two grandchildren, Kailene and Evan Laundry all of Groveton, three sisters, Patricia Dupont of Concord, NH, Carol Coolbeth and her husband William of East Lempster, NH, Amber Thompson of Groveton; one brother, Calvin Thompson and his wife Cheryl of Dalton; one aunt, several nieces and nephews, many cousins. She was predeceased by, both her parents, as well as, her stepparents, Dick and Dorothy Mayberry.
Visiting hours will be held Thursday afternoon and evening June 29, from 2-4 and 7-9, at the Bailey Funeral Home, Lancaster. A funeral service will be held Friday morning at 11:00, at the Christ United Methodist Church, Lancaster, Reverend Dr. Thomas W. Bentum, pastor, will officiate. Burial will follow in the Summer Street Cemetery.
