Everett "Marty" Ballard

LANCASTER- Everett "Marty" Ballard, 65, of Depot Street, died on May 2, 2007, at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center, Lebanon, after a long and courageous battle with many medical issues.

Mr. Ballard was born in Richmond, Virginia, on September 1, 1941, the son of Everett M. and Frances (Lyne) Ballard II.

Marty was a jack-of-all-trades; during his lifetime he sold insurance, and for many years he drove a taxicab in Maryland, Washington D.C. and Richmond, VA. He moved to New Hampshire in 1971, where he met and married Carol Cass Pelletier, they briefly returned to the south, returning to Lancaster in 1976, where he built a woodshop and started his own business working as a salesman until he became disabled.

He loved to watch Animal Planet and NASCAR racing, he was a devoted Jeff Gordon fan. Marty's biggest love in life was his family.

Family members include his wife of nearly 36 years, Carol Ballard, of Lancaster, his daughter Kristine Ballard and her fiancé Michael Grimard of Gilman, VT, his son Everett and his wife Gail Ballard of Greenback, TN, a step son Stephen and his wife Nancy Pelletier of Gilman, VT, three grandsons Nicholas Ballard, Carl Brooks Jr., and Timothy Brooks of Gilman, VT, two step grandsons Daniel Pelletier of Twin Mountain, Stephen Pelletier Jr. of Gilman, VT and a step granddaughter Crystal Pelletier of Penn. He was predeceased by, his parents.
