Everett W. "Scottie" Ainsworth

June 7, 1932 — February 11, 2010

DALTON - Everett W. "Scottie" Ainsworth, 77, of Old Whitefield Road, died Thursday morning, February 11, 2010, at his home surrounded by his loving family.

Mr. Ainsworth was born in Gorham, NH, on June 7, 1932, the son of Leonard A. and Evelyn (Bishop) Ainsworth.

Scottie was raised in Berlin and a graduate of Berlin High School. From 1949 to 1952 he served with the National Guard and from 1952 to 1956 the U.S. Navy.  He returned to Gorham for a time and was employed at Keir Plumbing and Heating.  In 1960 he moved to South Berwick, Maine, and worked for the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard for 31 ½ years.  He has resided in Dalton for the last 20 years.

He was a member of the Gorham Sabatis Masonic Lodge #73, F&AM.

Family members include his wife Janet D. (Proof) Ainsworth of Dalton; a son Wayne S. Ainsworth of Dalton; a daughter Shari L. Souliere of Barrington, NH; a brother Robert Ainsworth of Arroyo Grand, CA; three grandchildren, Daniel Ainsworth, Thomas Gervasi, Amanda Gervasi and a great-granddaughter Alyson Ainsworth.  He was predeceased by a brother, Leonard A. Ainsworth and a sister, Priscilla Tanguay.

At Scottie's request there are no visiting hours.  Services will be held at the convenience of the family.
