Frances K. Giroux

LANCASTER- Frances K. Giroux, 87, formerly of Portland Street, died Monday morning September 18, 2006 at Weeks Medical Center, Lancaster.
Mrs. Giroux was born in Westfield, Vermont on June 28, 1919 the daughter of Edward and Gertrude (Kendell) King.
Frances was raised in Westfield and Troy, Vermont. She attended Fanny Allen nursing college in Burlington were she became a registered nurse. While she was there she met and married her late husband Andre F. Giroux. During her nursing career she worked at several hospitals though out Northern New Hampshire and Vermont including Grafton, West Stewartstown, and Weeks Memorial Hospital. She has been a resident of Lancaster since the 1970's. Her hobbies included crocheting and word searches.
Family members include her daughter Carolyn Gleason of Lancaster, two granddaughters; Sarah Darling and her husband Henry of Groton, VT, Nina Hollstein and her husband Karl of Newbury, VT; five great grandchildren; Danielle Hollstein, Fantasia Darling, Caleb Hollstein, Emily Darling, and Jamie Darling; a brother Elum King of Saint Johnsbury, VT; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by, her before mentioned husband and a daughter Virginia Bolster.
There are no visiting hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday morning, September 21, at 10:00 AM at All Saints Church, Lancaster. Reverend Raymond Ball, pastor, will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lancaster.
Donations may be made in her memory to Weeks Home Health, Main Street, Lancaster, NH 03584 or a charity of ones choice.
