Francis was the son of George and Florence (Kenney) Roy, born on December 17, 1929 in Lancaster, New Hampshire. He grew up in St. Johnsbury, Vermont and was a 1948 graduate of St. Johnsbury Academy. He later graduated from Bentley School of Accounting, majoring in business. He took several courses in banking at the University of Maine, University of Vermont, Dartmouth College, University of New Hampshire and Harvard College. Early in his career he worked for Lesnick Enterprise and was a cashier at the Lancaster National bank. He was the eventual president of Whitefield Savings and Trust Company. They merged with Indian Head Bank North and he retired as regional Vice President Director. After retirement he served on the board of directors at Indian Head Bank North. He loved to dance and ski in the early years. Together with his wife, Dorothy (Reny), they settled in Lancaster, New Hampshire, summered in Whitefield, New Hampshire and built a life together. We will miss his wry sense of humor and his colorful stories!
His family offers special thanks to the generous, loving staff he and Dottie employed while they were able to remain at home and later at Riverglen House of Littleton and The Grafton County Nursing Home. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
He is welcomed into Heaven by his loving wife Dorothy, his parents George and Florence as well as his grandparents. Francis leaves behind the Reny Family, his beloved cousins, faithful friends, his doctors, nurses, business associates, neighbors and a dear friend and advocate, Mark Secord.
At Francis' request there are no visiting hours. He was a Communicant of All Saints Church in Lancaster. A graveside service will be held Saturday, April 17th, at 11:00 AM in Calvary Cemetery, Lancaster.
For those who were touched in one way or another by his presence, a donation in lieu of flowers, may be made in his memory to the Special Olympics of New Hampshire.
