Frederick E. Wilkinson

August 11, 1937 — January 24, 2006

GILMAN, VT- Frederick Wilkinson, 68, of Riverside Ave., died peacefully in his sleep at his home on Tuesday, January 24, 2006.

Mr. Wilkinson was born in St. Johnsbury, Vermont on August 11, 1937 the son of Clarence and Margaret (Johnson) Wilkinson.

Frederick was a lifetime resident of Gilman and was known by his friends and family as "Sonny" or "Ab". He graduated from Lancaster Academy in 1955. For 25 years he was employed at Gilman Paper Company/Georgia Pacific. He enjoyed reading, movies, and television. At the time when CB radios where popular he was well known in the community as "Rolling Donut". Spending time with family, especially he great-nieces, brought him his greatest enjoyment. Particularly the time spent at the family camp in Victory.

He was a Free and Accepted Mason with the Moose River Lodge #82, Concord, VT.

Family members include a brother John Wilkinson and his wife Beverly of Lunenburg, VT; one nephew, Kevin Wilkinson and his companion Heather of Lunenburg; two nieces; Karen Danforth and her husband Brian of Lunenburg, Kristen Jones and her husband Steven of Lancaster; seven great-nieces Megan Danforth, Miranda Danforth, Kelsey Wilkinson, Kierra Wilkinson, Felicia Colbeth, Kailyn Jones, and Lauryn Jones; one aunt, Clara Rodgers of St. Johnsbury; several cousins and good friend Bob Gunnip.

A memorial visiting hour will be held Saturday afternoon January 28, from 1:00 to 2:00 PM at the Bailey Funeral Home, Lancaster. A memorial service will follow immediately after at 2:00 PM at the funeral home. Reverend Henry E. Cheney, pastor of Gilman Methodist Church, will officiate.
