Freeman C. Hanks

WHITEFIELD - Freeman C. Hanks, 58, died suddenly at his home on Pine Street October 2, 2013.

Mr. Hanks was born in West Stewartstown, NH on January 22, 1955 the son of Gloria Hanks.

He was a long time North Country resident and a 1973 graduate of Colebrook Academy.

His first job was working for Tillotson Rubber in Dixville and later was employed at many of the area paper mills including Stratford, Groveton and Gilman.

For the past six years he has been employed at P.J. Noyes in Lancaster.

He was an avid motorcyclist and rode countless miles throughout New England.

He loved spending time with his extended family, the family of his niece Shirley Sweatt.

Surviving family members include three brothers, Roger Hanks, Clark Purrington, Michael Flanders; a sister Roxanne Purrington; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was predeceased in 2009 by his wife of 16 years Deborah Hanks; also his mother and his brother Greg Hanks.

Visiting hours will be held Wednesday evening October 9, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Bailey Funeral Home, Lancaster.

There are no additional services.

Freeman was a very benevolent person.

Not only did he make donations to aid many charities he also donated gallons of blood during his lifetime.

In his memory the family would like a donation of any kind made to a charity of one's choice.
