Gayle Elaine Fong passed away Thursday, February 1, 2018, after battling lung cancer, at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Hanover, NH surrounded by her loving family.
Gayle was born on May 10, 1956 in St. Johnsbury, VT, to Patricia B. Farmer (Burrington) and Leon W. Roberts. She attended St. Johnsbury schools, graduating from St. Johnsbury Academy in 1974, where she excelled in gymnastics.
Gayle spent many years in the food industry. The high point of her career was her involvement in the management of the Mai Kai Restaurant in Dover, NH. During this time she instilled her strong work ethic and made a lasting impression on her co-workers. Gayle was an extremely talented seamstress and sewed for a variety of clients. Her family continues to proudly use and wear many of her creations.
More recently, she spent many hours compassionately crocheting hats, booties and blankets for premature babies at Molly's House. She also made countless wheelchair blankets for DHMC.
Gayle is survived by: Her father, Robert G. Farmer, formerly of Lunenburg; Her loyal companion, Carol Covey. Sisters: Marilyn (Brian) Lovell, Nancy (Ron) Davidowicz, Lauri (Kevin) Cincotta, Sylvia (Peter) Pettingill, Donna (Harry) Shamberger, and Dana (Brad) Weekes. Brothers: William (Lisa) Farmer, Robert (Lise) Farmer and Steven Farmer.
Nieces and nephews: Patrick Clow, Cheria Rollins, Carrie Clow, Christine Clow, Joseph Clow, Chad Davidowicz, Cain Davidowicz, Paige Davidowicz, Joshua Cincotta, Anthony Cincotta, Meagan Monroe, Ian Bolstridge, Karac Shamberger, Harry Shamberger III, Henry Weekes II, Bradford Weekes Jr., Reed Weekes, Christine Farmer, Tommy Farmer, Jonathan Farmer, William Farmer, and Joshua Farmer. Her loving dog Rosebud and cat Yobo.
There will be a celebration of Gayle's life and her mother's on March 4, 2018 from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at The Maplewood in Bethlehem, New Hampshire. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Upper Valley Humane Society in Enfield, New Hampshire.
