Morgan, VT/ Treasure Island, FL-Mrs. Genese M. (Pelletier) Blanchette, 70, of Morgan, VT and Treasure Island, FL has gone home to be with Our Lord. She passed away at Northside Hospital in St. Petersburg, FL on Wednesday morning, June 12, 2013.

Genese was born in St. Johnsbury, VT on May 1, 1943, the only child to the late Robert and Gemma (LaRochelle) Pelletier. She lived in South Lunenburg until her marriage to her husband, David, on May 14, 1966 then resided in Gilman until the summer of 2000 when they retired to their home on Lake Seymour in Morgan, VT.

She was involved in many organizations and activities throughout her wonderful life. She had served as the Director of the CCD program for St. Leo and St. Theresa parishes in Lunenburg and Gilman as well as being a CCD teacher, a member of the 4H advisory board for Essex county, a 4-H leader and organizer of the 4-H Fashion shows that were once held at the Lancaster Fair, a Cub Scout Den Mother, TOPS Leader in Littleton and a Justice of the Peace.

Her working career included working as the secretary for the Principal of the Gilman school and for the local banking organizations in Lancaster, Whitefield and Littleton for 20 years. Her most joyous and rewarding career was that of being a mother, a homemaker and a Memere.

She enjoyed cooking, cake decorating, sewing, knitting and crocheting, gardening, traveling, family and friends and always put her heart and soul in everything that she did.

Genese is survived by her husband of 47 years, David Blanchette of Morgan, VT, one son, Robert Blanchette and wife Angela of Dalton, NH and one daughter, Jeanne Nadeau and husband Andy of Lancaster, NH. Her twelve special angels and lights of her life are Ivory and Josef Blanchette, John David, Andre, Maria, Marcie, Noah, Laura, Lucia, Isabelle, Alyssa and Evangeline Nadeau.

Calling hours will be on Tuesday, June 18th from 7-9 pm at the Bailey Funeral home in Lancaster. A Funeral service will be held at the Gate of Heaven Church in Lancaster at 2 pm. A graveside burial will take place at the Summer Street Cemetery.
