Georganna Dow

Georganna Winfred Dow, 77, of Lunenburg, VT. passed away on April 21st in her home. She was born on June 20, 1947 in Concord, VT to James W. and Mary (Morse) Grant.
She attended schools in East Concord and Concord and graduated in 1965 from Concord High School. She always enjoyed getting together with her classmates at class reunions through the years.
She married Michael F. Dow on September 17, 1967 and they resided in Waterbury Center and moved to the Grant family homestead in November 1979, after the death of her father to keep the homestead in the family.
She was a 34 year employee of the State of Vermont and worked at several departments during her career, Tax, Health, and Economic Services, which department she retired from in 2009. She was very dedicated to the clients that she served. After her retirement, she was employed part-time for Aunt Sadie's Candles in Lunenburg for over 9 years.
She was a longtime member of the East Concord United Methodist Church and served as treasurer for many years. Keeping the church open was very important to her. She served as lay speaker for the Lunenburg and East Concord churches. She also served as treasurer for the Overlook Cemetery Association in East Concord for nearly 40 years.
She was a member of both Queen Esther Chapter #7 & Adah Chapter #39, Order of the Eastern Star in Concord joining in 1965. She was proud to be Worthy Grand Matron of Vermont Grand Chapter in 2017-18. Her Eastern Star Sisters and Brothers were an important part of her life, and she enjoyed traveling throughout Vermont and other states and Canada with the fraternal organization.
She enjoyed gardening, cooking, spending time with the family, watching birds and wildlife from their home and taking many pictures. She also enjoyed being the chairperson for church dinners and receptions.
She is survived by her children, Donna Paquette (Lincoln) of Concord, Christopher (Krystle) of Lunenburg, grandchildren, Felicia, Hillary, Alex, Olivia, Asher and Oakleigh. and great grand-children, Riley, Raelyn, Aurora, and Grayson, sister, Betty Keasling (Jimmie), brother-in-law, Terry Dow, sister-in-law Marilyn Dow, several nieces and nephews and many cousins. She is predeceased by her parents, James and Mary, and brother, David and husband Micheal.
A celebration of Georganna's life will be held May 17th at the East Concord United Methodist Church on Saturday at 11am with an Eastern Star memorial service during the funeral service. Visiting hours will be 5 to 7 at Bailey funeral home in Lancaster NH.
