LANCASTER - Georgia I. Libby Fraser, 95, of Lancaster passed away Monday afternoon December 30, 2013 at the Lafayette Center in Franconia.
Mrs. Fraser was born in Lancaster on June 21, 1918 the sixth child of Annie E. Butcher Libby of Plymouth, England and Franklin B. Libby of Portland, Maine.
On Thanksgiving Day the 26th day of November 1936 she married Kenneth F. Fraser Sr., the son of Berthia Ross and James A. Fraser. They were married at St. Paul's Church in Lancaster by the Reverend Richard P. McChuitock.
Georgia took care of others all her life. She loved quilting and made quilts for all her children and grandchildren. She won many blue ribbons at the Lancaster Fair for her handy work. She also enjoyed gardening, canning, flowers, knitting, making dolls, Christmas puddings and keeping photos in albums.
She was a faithful member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church and belonged to the Ladies Guild. She was also a 55 year member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary.
Surviving family members include six children Kenneth F. Fraser Jr. and his wife Linda of Lancaster, Marilyn Fraser Ayer of Arizona, May E. Fraser Sampson and her husband Paul of Lancaster, James O. Fraser and wife Linda of Concord, NH and Florida; Allen R. Fraser and his wife Val of Hill, NH, Donald R. Fraser and wife Chris of Lancaster; 15 grandchildren; 4 step-grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and 8 great-great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Kenneth Sr.; a son-in-law Jack Ayer; two grandchildren; and siblings Herbert Libby, Cecil Libby, Edgar Libby, Owen Libby, Minnie Libby Brown, and Bill Libby.
Visiting hours will be held Thursday evening January 2, from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at the Bailey Funeral Home, Lancaster. A funeral service will be held Friday morning at 11:00 AM at St. Paul's Church, Lancaster. Burial will be in the spring in Summer Street Cemetery, Lancaster.
