LUNENBURG - Glenn J. Halpin, 99, of East Main Street, died Saturday morning, December 16, 2017, at Weeks Medical Center after a brief illness.
Mr. Halpin was born in Berlin, NH, on June 20, 1918, the son of John and Sophia (Smith) Halpin. During WWII he served as a Sergeant with the US Army Air Force in the South Pacific. From 1940-1982 he was employed at the Gilman Mill retiring under the ownership of Georgia Pacific.
Glenn enjoyed tending to flower and vegetable gardens with his late wife Irene. He also enjoyed fishing and hunting and just going to camp. He was a life member of the American Legion Post 41.
Surviving family members include his daughter Bette J. Robinson and her husband Edmund of Groveton; two granddaughters Casey Robinson, Kimberly Robinson; three great-grandchildren, Dakotah Guerin, Zander Knox and Zayden Knox. He was predeceased by his wife Irene Annie (Sivegny) Halpin and three siblings, Norman J. Halpin, Lawrence Halpin and Madeline Pickess.
Visiting hours will be held Thursday evening, December 21, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the Bailey Funeral Home in Lancaster. Burial will be held in the spring at the convenience of the family in Calvary Cemetery, Lancaster.
