LANCASTER- Gloria Mae Sullivan, 70, of 18 Wolcott Street, died suddenly at her home, Monday night, May 7, 2007, of complications from a vascular illness.
Mrs. Sullivan was born in Lancaster on December 12, 1936, the daughter of Dannie and Evelyn J. (Stillings) Flynn.
She was a lifelong resident of Lancaster where she attended schools and graduated from Lancaster Academy in 1954. For a short time she worked in Brattleboro, VT, and returned home to work at the Mountain View in Whitefield. She was also employed for a time at the Lancaster Diner. While raising her children she had various jobs housekeeping and was co-custodian of the Lancaster Congregational Church with her husband for 41 years.
Gloria was a member of the Christ United Methodist Church, Lancaster and the VFW Ladies Auxiliary #3041, Lancaster. She loved helping at her son's greenhouse business, being with her children and grandchildren, gardening, fishing, crossword puzzles, cooking and cleaning. She was always there if you needed something and will be missed by all who knew her.
Surviving family members include a son Frederick Sullivan and his wife Patti, of Lancaster; a daughter Pamela J. (Sullivan) Frizzell and her husband Robert of Groveton; grandchildren, Allison Marie Sullivan of Lancaster, Paul Robert Frizzellof Groveton, Abbey M. and Amanda L. Frizzell of Groveton; Randy and Nicholas Blodgett of Lancaster, Lynne and Dawn Gellar and Sherri Stevens and their families; also one little great-grand-daughter Kamryn Jaycee Ledger; one brother Arnold (Jim) Flynn and wife Beatrice of Lancaster; a sister-in-law and brother-in-law Frances and John Pepau of Percy, NH; a sister-in-law Maureen Sullivan of Norwich, VT; Allison's mother, Diane E. Blodgett of Lancaster; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends far and near. Gloria's dear husband, Paul W. Sullivan did on March 29, 2007. A son Edward Paul Sullivan and her parents also died previously.
Visiting hours will Thursday evening, May 10, from 6-9 PM at the Bailey Funeral Home, Lancaster. A funeral service will be held Friday morning at 11:00 at the Christ United Methodist Church, Lancaster. Rev. Dr. Thomas W. Bentum, pastor, will officiate. Burial will follow in Summer Street Cemetery, Lancaster.
