WHITEFIELD - Gus M. Gauvain, 72, passed away on September 17, 2018, after a long illness. Gus was born on December 28, 1945 in San Diego, California, to Joseph and Josephine (Howard) Gauvain.
He grew up in Lynn, Massachusetts. For over forty years he worked for Bell Telephone Company. He retired in 1998 and moved to Whitefield.
Gus absolutely loved basketball and played at the Colonel Town Gym well into his 60's. He loved the Boston Celtics and was a dedicated fan. Gus use to walk his dogs for hours every morning and every afternoon. In his younger years he was an avid hiker who loved the night sky. Sleep softly my friend!!
