Helen Ann Plant Andolina

October 2, 1967 — January 13, 2019

Helen Ann Plant Andolina passed bravely and peacefully at the Weeks Medical Center in Lancaster, New Hampshire surrounded by family and friends.

Helen is survived by the loves of her life, her daughters, Angela Rose Andolina of Whitestone, New York and Theresa Marie Andolina of Colebrook, New Hampshire. They were her greatest pride and joy! Helen is predeceased by her mother, Anna C. Lord, (formerly of Wolfeboro, New Hampshire) and now they are together in Heaven. Helen was the youngest of eight siblings and their lives were blessed by her presence. To say her numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews adored her is an understatement.

Helen was very proud to have been born in Homer, Alaska. She lived there as a child for several years before making the journey with her family to Wakefield, New Hampshire.

While growing up in New Hampshire, her favorite summer job was working with horses at the Castle in the Clouds. In her early 20's she moved to Colebrook where she entered the insurance field. This was her career to her passing. Helen received numerous awards and commendations for her excellent work in the field and attained her Certified Insurance Counselor designation. She LOVED "her clients" at the George M. Stevens Insurance Agency and they loved her. The owners and staff at George M. Stevens couldn't have been any more amazing during this time and Helen was so very thankful and appreciative for all that they did for her during this battle.

Helen was an avid collector of Budweiser memorabilia. She was also Bob Seger's greatest fan. On many occasions she could be heard from a mile away cruising down the road in her Mustang with "BOB" blasting from the stereo system. Everyone knew who was coming!

Helen is remembered for her selflessness, kindness, and generosity toward everyone she came in contact with. If you were family or a friend to Helen, she always had your back.

Helen spent the past year doing the traveling she had always wanted to do. She visited Florida for the first time where she was able to go to Disney and be presented with her "My First Visit" badge. Helen also went riding in a hot air balloon (which was NEVER part of her plan) and even danced the night away on the beach with very dear friends.

She had a longing to return to her childhood home in Alaska. In late August she was able to tour Alaska for eleven days in the back of an RV with large windows and was able to take in all of the wondrous sights from the comfort of her queen-size bed. Her favorite memories of the trip were waking up on a different beach almost every morning and having the opportunity to go ATVing on the beach. The fresh air and beauty around her put a smile on her face and brought her peace.

This Christmas Helen's wish was to spend as much time as possible with Angela and Theresa around the Christmas tree. She was able to do that and her heart was filled with comfort and joy.

Helen fought a courageous battle with stomach cancer for over a year; all the while making certain everyone else was okay as was true Helen fashion. She was DETERMINED to prove the doctors wrong. Helen will be missed beyond words.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Helen's memory to Two Rivers Ride for Cancer, Inc., c/o Rosemary Mulliken, 53 Spring Street, Colebrook, NH 03576 or The Friends of Weeks at Weeks Medical Center 173 Middle Street, Lancaster, New Hampshire 03584. A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date.
