MAIDSTONE, VT - Howard Kenneth "Bud" Ripley Jr., 71, of Hall Road, died Sunday morning December 13, 2009, at Weeks Medical Center, Lancaster.
Mr. Ripley was born in Berlin, NH, on August 6, 1938, the son of Howard Kenneth Ripley Sr. and Olive Walker Collins Ripley.
Mr. Ripley worked 25 years of his life as a tractor-trailer driver for various companies in Colorado and Utah. Later in life he was a self-employed auto mechanic. For many years he was a resident in the Claremont area but has resided in Maidstone for the past several years.
Bud enjoyed hunting, fishing, traveling and boating. He was a member of the Moose Lodge in Claremont.
Family members include his wife Ruth P. (Patridge) Ripley of Maidstone; a daughter Joyce Barr of Rochester, NY; six stepchildren, Dianne Chambers and her husband Ernest of Charlestown, Wauneta Hurd and her husband Rodney of Lempster, Robin Westney and her husband Dan of Claremont, Gloria Irons and her husband Robert of Port Orange, FL, Michelle Rumrill and her husband Rodney of Charlestown, Michael Walch and his wife Annette of Lempster; 22 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; a step-father Arthur Collins of Lancaster; a sister Irene Bisson of Concord, NH; an aunt Pauline Emery of Lancaster; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents; three siblings, Elaine Hastings, Barbara Smally, and Donald Collins.
There are no visiting hours. A memorial service will be held Friday afternoon, December 18, at 1:00 PM at the Lancaster Assembly of God Church, North Main Street, Lancaster. Rev. James Michaels, pastor, will officiate.
