EAST CONCORD, VT- Howard N. MacDonald, 80, of Oregon Road, died Saturday December 22, 2007, at Weeks Medical Center, Lancaster.
Mr. MacDonald was born in Concord, VT on September 17, 1927, a son of Harry and Cleona (Nichols) MacDonald.
Howard was a lifetime resident of E. Concord. He was in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. He worked for Georgia Pacific, Gilman for several years until his retirement.
His greatest joy was his grandchildren and truly enjoyed time spent with them. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, four wheeling, snow mobiling and was an excellent carpenter, building homes for his children.
He was a member of the Littleton Square Dance Club, Gilman American Legion
Post #41, Concord Moose Club #82, and the East Concord United Methodist Church.
Family members include his wife of 52 years Ruth (Baker) MacDonald of E. Concord, two sons Steven MacDonald and his friend Cheryl of Waterford, VT and Stanley MacDonald and his wife Dawn of E. Concord; two daughters Sandra Lowell and her husband Tom of Waterford and Sonya Boulay and her husband William of Lunenburg; 3 grandchildren, Brandon, Ryan, and Trent Lowell; his sister Lillian Tatro of E. Concord. He was predeceased by, his brother John MacDonald in 2005.
At Howard's request there are no visiting hours. A graveside service will be held in the spring in Overlook Cemetery.
