Irene Audrey Olson Sweeney

The Sweeney Family is saddened by the passing of Irene Audrey Olson Sweeney of Lunenburg, Vermont after a short battle with pancreatic cancer. She was the heart of the family and will be sorely missed by family and friends.
Irene was born and raised in Wilsons Mills Maine to Agnes Linnell Olson and Lewis Olson on Thanksgiving, November 29, 1928. She was the thirteenth of fourteen children. At the age of 91, Irene was the last of the Olson children. She loved and adored her countless nieces and nephews. Irene attended and graduated from Gould Academy in Bethel, Maine.
Married to Mark A. Sweeney on December 24, 1947, Irene raised five boys - Mark, Bradford, Steven, Alan, and Michael on the family farm in Millsfield and later in Jefferson, New Hampshire. She was blessed with many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Irene wore many hats as a daughter, sister, wife, mother and grandmother. She was a great cook, baker, knitter, gardener, and friend; but most of all "MOM".
Services will be private and at the convenience of the family. A celebration of life will be announced at a later date.
