Irving R. Covell

GROVETON - Irving R. Covell, 98, of Covell Heights, died Monday morning October 31, 2016, at Country Village Genesis Eldercare Center.
Mr. Covell was born in West Stewartstown, NH, on January 19, 1918 the son of Arthur J. and Cora (Knapp) Covell.
Irving was raised in West Stewartstown and moved to Groveton in 1936. He was self employed his entire life. He first operated a dairy farm for several years and later a construction company that he owned for 40 years. He also raised horses that he showed at the fair and he was regularly seen riding in local parades.
He was a 50 year member of the Loyal Order of Moose.
Surviving family members include his son Thomas Covell of Groveton; 4 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife Pauline M. (Carpovich) Covell; two daughters, Coral "Candy" Covell in 1997, Elizabeth Bean in 2016; three brothers, Almon, Warren, Curtis; three sisters, Naomi Heath, Esther Wood, Idalyn Ellingwood.
At Irving's request there are no visiting hours. A funeral service will be held Saturday afternoon at 2:00 PM at the United Methodist Church in Groveton. Burial will follow in Northumberland Cemetery.
Donations in lieu of flowers may be made in his memory to Riverside Animal Rescue, 236 Riverside Ave, Lunenburg, VT 05906
