WHITEFIELD, NH- Irving W Tate, 81 died at his home, on Monday morning December 20, 2010.
Mr. Tate was born in Moultonboro, NH on March 11, 1929 the only child of Charles and Shirley (Glidden) Tate.
Irving was raised in the Moultonboro and Meredith area. He served 20 years in the US Army and he was Veteran of WWII and Vietnam and was a recipient of the Purple Heart. He has been a resident of Whitefield for 31 years. For a time he work as a mechanic for Paul Belanger's Garage, delivered oil for Cray Oil Company and was a road agent for the Town of Whitefield.
His memberships include the Whitefield VFW Post 10675, Whitefield American Legion Post 41, the Shriners and Shriners Legion of Honor, North Star Lodge of Free and Accepted Masons.
Family members include his wife of 38 years Dorothy (Rolfe) Tate of Whitefield, four daughters, Michelle Tate of Ansonia, CT, Yvonne Roark of Nashville, TN, Desiree Brooks of Ansonia, CT, Danielle Demler of Bangor, PA, two step sons David Phelps of E. Haven, CT and Donald Phelps of Lancaster, 7 grandchildren, 2 step grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and 2 step great grandchildren.
At Irving's request there are no calling hours. A graveside service with military honors will be held in the spring in the Northumberland Cemetery.
