JEFFERSON, NH- James P. Brady Sr., 90, of Ingerson Road, died Sunday
November 25, 2007, at Weeks Medical Center, Lancaster.
Mr. Brady was born in Berlin, New Hampshire on December 22, 1916 the son of
Wilbrod and Adele (Dumont) Brady.
James attended Guardian Angel School and was a graduate of Berlin High
School. In 1938 he married Eleanor R. Cantell of Groveton, they moved to
Jefferson in 1941.This past summer they celebrated their 69th wedding
anniversary. He was a pioneer in the tourism industry, starting Six Gun
City, the western theme park in Jefferson in 1957. Six Gun City celebrated
its 50th anniversary this year.
Jim was an Eagle Scout, order of the Arrow and was later a Scout Master of
Troop 218 in Jefferson for over 3 decades. He was an avid hunter and enjoyed
camping, skiing, dog sledding, fishing and working with leather and wood.
He was a Communicant of St. Agnes Catholic Church, Jefferson.
Family members include his wife Eleanor, his children Lawrence, George and
his wife Cynthia, Jane, Richard, James Jr. and his wife Mary Ellen, Michael,
Karen, and Thomas; a sister Mary Jane Durdan; his grandchildren, Mark, Anne,
Patrick, Christine, Richard Jr., Sarah, Ellen, and Kerry; 10 great
grandchildren. He was predeceased by, a granddaughter Melissa and a sister
Grace Brady PM.
Calling hours will be held on Tuesday afternoon and evening, November 27,
from 2-4 and 6-8 at the Bailey Funeral Home, Lancaster. A Mass of Christian
Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday morning at 11:00 AM at St. Agnes
Church, Jefferson. Rev. Raymond Ball, pastor, will officiate. Burial will
follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lancaster.
In Lieu of flowers donations may be made in his memory to the St. Agnes
Catholic Church Fuel Fund, Main Street, Lancaster, NH 03584 c/o All Saints
Parish.
