GROVETON, NH - James Francis St. Laurent, 74, of Old Village Road, died at his home Wednesday afternoon, April 17, 2024, after a long illness.
Jimmie was born in Lawrence, Massachusetts on July 4, 1949, the son of Oliver and Eileen (Keegan) St. Laurent. He was raised in Methuen, MA, and attended the Essex Agricultural High School in Danvers, MA where he specialized in animal husbandry.
Jimmie was a US Army veteran of the Vietnam War and was honorably discharged as a corporal in 1970. On October 1, 1972, he married the love of his life Claudette C. Guerard. They continued living in Massachusetts where Jimmie worked various jobs. For a time, he was employed at Raytheon and later worked as a security officer for the IRS and Rockingham Park, Salem, NH. He also owned two businesses over the years, St. Laurent Rabbitry and a tree stump grinding and cord wood business.
In 1999 Jimmie moved with his family to their present home in Groveton and worked several years as a bus driver for Berry Transportation. Memberships include the Groveton American Legion Post #17, the VFW Post #6808, and the DAV. Jimmie has always had a love for animals, especially horses and his dog, Bella.
Jimmie is survived by his wife of 51 years, Claudette St. Laurent, son Keefe St. Laurent and wife Amanda of McLoud, OK, daughter Jody Milovanovic and husband Jason of Punta Gorda, FL, son Shane St. Laurent and wife Nathalie of Melbourne, FL, daughter Courtney St. Laurent of Groveton, NH, brother Paul St. Laurent and wife Rita, sister Mary Whittaker and husband Mike, sister Joanne St. Laurent, brother David St. Laurent and wife Karen, sister Judy Murphy and husband Brian, brother Kevin St. Laurent, sister Eileen St. Laurent and partner Kevin Casilli, grandchildren Seth St. Laurent and wife Brooklyn, Grace, Elizabeth, Cole, Ethan, Constantin, Alexander, Izabella, great granddaughter Ozzy Claire, sister-in-law Sharon Hoyle and husband Ted, brother-in-law Phillip Guerard and wife Carol, and numerous nieces and nephews. Jimmie is predeceased by his parents Oliver and Eileen and his brother J. Michael
St. Laurent.
Visiting hours will be held Friday, April 26th from 12:00 - 2:00PM at the Bailey Funeral Home, 210 Main Street, Lancaster, NH. Following visiting hours, a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2:00PM at All Saints Church, Lancaster. Reverend Britto Adaikalam, pastor and Reverend Daniel Deveau, pastor of St. Francis Xavier Church, Groveton, will officiate. Burial with military honors will follow in the Calvary Cemetery, Lancaster.
