James “Jim” Edward Styles, 68, of Northumberland, NH lost his battle on March 19th, 2025. Known to many as the Old Goat, Jim was born on July 15th, 1956 in Lancaster, NH to Thomas S. and Pearl I. (Breault) Styles of Northumberland, NH.
Jim graduated from Groveton High School with the class of 1974 and remained close with many classmates. While in high school, Jim worked for Normandeau Trucking. He also worked with his brothers in the logging business for several years. Jim would venture out on his own, being a “Jack of All Trades”, pipelining in Maine for Local 4 Operators Union out of Massachusetts until his retirement from pipefitting with Engineered Construction Services.
Jim will be remembered for being kindhearted and hardworking. Also, as a loving father, son, brother, uncle, Papa and friend. He enjoyed the outdoors, music and sitting around by the fire. Additionally, Jim enjoyed playing with his grandchildren and spending time with family.
Predeceasing Jim are his parents and his daughter, Heather Styles, as well as his soulmate, Lisa Shorey.
Surviving Jim are his five children: Jessica Styles, Kristie Tesoro, Vanessa Law(Gabriel), Courtney Styles and Billy Joe Comeau. He also leaves behind three siblings, Thomas M., Mark, and Tamie Styles(Steve Collins) as well as 15 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life (Goat Style) for family and friends will be held at the Colonel Town Community Camp “Big Grill”, 55 Mt. Cabot Rd., Lancaster, New Hampshire on Saturday, June 7th from 12pm-4pm. A Graveside Service will take place at Ridgwell Cemetery, Route 102, Guildhall, Vermont on Sunday June 8th, 2025 at 11am.
