WHITEFIELD - Jane M. Barton, 77, died Saturday morning, August 20, 2016, at The Morrison in Whitefield.
Mrs. Barton was born in McKeesport, PA on March 15, 1939 the daughter of James and Josephine (Wisniewski) Shidel. On October 28, 1961 she married Donald E. Barton. She has been a homemaker all her life and enjoyed taking care of children in her home. She also provided child care in the local schools and she enjoyed reading and walking.
Surviving family members include her husband Donald of Whitefield; three daughters, Josephine Lori Barton and Julia Barton, both of Whitefield, Beth Barton of Pittsfield, MA; and a brother James Shidel. She was predeceased by her sister Patricia Shidel Nola.
A funeral service will be held Tuesday afternoon, August 23

, at 2:30 PM at the Whitefield Christian Church. Reverend Lou Going, pastor, will officiate. Burial will follow in Park Street Cemetery, Whitefield.
