LANCASTER- Jann Simpson, 59, died Friday morning, June 19, 2009, at Weeks Medical Center, Lancaster after a long courageous battle with cancer.
Jann was born in Lancaster on December 11, 1949, a daughter of Joseph and Elyn (Tilden) Brown Sr.
She was a lifetime resident of Lancaster and a graduate of Lancaster Academy. She worked various jobs bartending and waitressing. She was last employed by Weeks Medical Center as a billing clerk until she retired due to ill health. She enjoyed riding motorcycles and her time spent in Alaska where she went white water rafting.
Family members include her son Jerry A. Kenison Jr. and his fiancée Melinda of Lancaster, her brother Jimmy Brown of Burlington, VT, her stepdaughter Michelle DeWitt and her husband Kevin of Lancaster, 8 grandchildren, nieces and nephews and her dear friends who cared for her and never left her side, Winta Samson of Lancaster and Tanya Cullinane of Loudon. She was predeceased by, her parents, a brother Joseph E. Brown Jr. and her sister Jacqueline Bowen.
At Jann's request there are no calling hours. A celebration of her life will be held Saturday, June 27, at 11:00 AM at the John W. Weeks V.F.W Post 3041 in Lancaster.
