Jay Thietten

Jay Thietten died at home on September 5th 2025. Jay was born on November 17, 1950 in Twin Falls, ID. Son of the late Duane B. and Alce E. Thietten. He was a graduate of Salmon River High School in Riggins, Idaho and Boise State University.

Jay retired as Director of Fire and Aviation for the Bureau of Land Management in Washington, D.C. In 2007 he relocated to Guildhall, VT.

Jay enjoyed snowmobiling and driving his Jeep with his beloved dog Dixie. He also had a special group of friends with whom he met weekly.

Hay is survived by his wife Elieen K. Thietten of Guildhall, VT,; his son Shawn Thietten and wife Valerie of Albuquerque, New Mexico; and two stepsons, Andrew A Eveleth of Washington D.C. and Joshua P. Eveleth of San Francisco, CA as well as his beloved grandson, Tiago Thietten of Albuquerque and several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents and brother Brent Maykuth and sister Lynne Ramey.

A Celebration of Life will be held in the Spring.
