Jeannette Gregoire Arsenault, a long-time resident of Lancaster, NH died on February 9, 2016 at the Morrison Nursing Home in Whitefield, NH where she struggled with the effects of dementia.
Born in 1928 in Berlin, NH, Jeannette was the third of eight children born to Imelda (Hache) and Adelard Gregoire. She was raised in Berlin, NH losing both her parents before the age of 13. When her paternal grandmother became the victim of a house fire, Jeannette and three of her siblings were placed in the foster care system

After graduating from high school, Jeannette worked for the Brown Paper Company before marrying her husband, Roger Arsenault in November of 1947. The young newlyweds purchased a home in Berlin and opened their home to several of Jeannette's younger siblings who were still in foster care
.
Jeannette and her husband moved to Lancaster, NH in 1950 when Roger was transferred to the Lancaster A&P Grocery Store
.
In 1967 they purchased North End Market on Depot Street in Lancaster, NH and successfully operated this convenient store until retiring and selling their business to their daughter Janet in 1981. Jeannette continued to work at the store from time to time until 2008.
Jeannette enjoyed a variety of crafts including knitting, sewing and crocheting and left many treasured items for her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed card games and liked to cook treats for her family
.
Her grandchildren loved her sugar cookies. She liked to garden and walked almost every day for many years. She was a member of the Daughters of Isabella and became a hospice volunteer in 1993. She was a communicant of the Gate of Heaven Parish and was devoted to her faith.
Jeannette is survived by her five children: Louise Jordan and her husband Ken from Whitefield, NH, Janet Arsenault from Lancaster

NH, Mary Snowman from Lancaster NH, Paul Arsenault and his fiancee Brenda Jasper from Jefferson, ME and Gary Arsenault and his wife Jennifer from St. Petersburg

She is also survived by her sister Agnes Wilson from Casselberry, Florida; nine grandchildren and eight great grandchildren
.
She was predeceased by her parents, husband of 45 years Roger, grandson Adam Snowman

Richard Robert, , and Leo Gregoire.
Visiting hours will be held Friday evening February 12, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the Bailey Funeral Home in Lancaster. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday morning at 11:00 AM at All Saints Church in Lancaster. Reverend Matthew Mason, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in the spring in Calvary Cemetery, Lancaster.
