Jennie B. Wheeler

LANCASTER - Jennie B Wheeler, 74, of Guildhall VT, passed away August 18, 2016, at Littleton Regional Hospital. She was born in Guildhall VT on May 9, 1942, the fourth child of Albert and Bea McAllister. She grew up in Guildhall and graduated from Groveton High School in 1960.



Jennie attended the University of Vermont and Southern New Hampshire University in Manchester. She eventually received a degree in Early Childhood Education from the School of Lifelong Learning.



On September 14, 1963, she married Robert F. "Tiny" Wheeler from Lancaster NH after a



five



month



courtship



(and



"they"



said



it



wouldn't



last!!).



They



lived



in



Connecticut



for



two



and



a half years and moved to Lancaster in 1966 to raise their



family.



Jennie retired from the Lancaster Play and Learning Center after 23 years. She enjoyed taking care of and watching two generations of kids grow up and mature.



Jennie was a loving sister, wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a social butterfly who enjoyed spending quality time with her family and socializing with her friends. She enjoyed spending time in her home on the hill watching soap operas and NASCAR.



She is survived by her son Steven and daughter-­in­-law Brenda of Newmarket NH, son Mark of Lancaster, and daughter Kelly of Lancaster. She was "Mimi" to her three grandchildren, 2nd Lt. Robert Wheeler, U.S. Army and Rebecca Wheeler of Newmarket, and Brittany Farrow of Lancaster. Jennie's extended family was very important to her. She is survived by her brother-­in-­law Don Hill of Concord NH, sister-­in-­law Pat McAllister of Amesbury MA and West Stewartstown NH, sister-­in­-law Theresa McAllister of Gorham NH and several nieces, nephews and cousins.  She was predeceased by her husband Robert "Tiny" Wheeler, her parents, brothers Albert Jr. and Richard McAllister and sister Dot Hill.



Visiting hours will be held Monday evening, August 22



nd



, from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at the Bailey Funeral Home, Lancaster.  A funeral service will be held Tuesday morning at 11:00 AM at the funeral home.  Reverend W. David Weddington, pastor of the First Congregational Church of Littleton, will officiate.  Burial will follow in Summer Street Cemetery.
