Jesse Wayne Johnson passed away August 26, 2021 at Concord Hospital with family at his side. Although he struggled with multiple health issues, he passed in peace and comfort, remarking that he had a good life.
Jess was born in Brockton, Massachussetts on July 19th, 1947. He was many things during his life. He graduated from White Mountains Regional High School in the class of 1966. He was a proud patriot and served in the Army Security Agency during the Vietnam war. He loved the outdoors, cooking way too much food and playing cards. He was many things to many people, but above all a family man.
Jess "Grizz" Johnson lived in Warner, NH with his wife Nina and their pets, Ciderbell, Pip and Hagrid. Jess was tremendously proud of his family and he left behind quite a few to carry on his legacy. He is survived by his children Jodi, Tammi, Shawn, Aaron, Pam, Dylan and Chloe as well as his stepchildren Virginia and James. He loved spending time with his grand children Randi, Tommy, Terri, Angel, Valerie, Tommy, Madison, Luke, Ryan, Wolf, Acadia, Griffin, Birch and Ivy. He adored his great grandchildren Matthew, James, William, Evalyn, Bennet and Zoey.
The world is worse off without him, but was made so much better because he was here. Like many of the deer he once hunted, Grizz will be missed. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, November 6th at 11am at Park Street Cemetery in Whitefield, NH.
