GROVETON - Joan V. Kenney, 71, of Crow Hill Street, died Friday morning, February 15, 2019, at Weeks Medical Center, Lancaster.
Mrs. Kenney was born in Lancaster on May 8, 1947, the daughter of Lewis C and Vivian G. (Simpson) Miles.
Joan was a lifetime resident of Groveton and graduate of Groveton High School. For 25 years she was employed in the billing department at Weeks Medical Center. She enjoyed sewing, knitting, quilting and square dancing.
Joan was an active member of the Christ United Methodist Church in Lancaster and enjoyed participating in several mission trips.
Surviving family members include her husband of 53 years Thomas W. "Bill" Kenney of Groveton; three daughters, Diane Kenny, Jennifer Fuller and Patricia Kenney all of Lancaster; three grandchildren Alicia Kenney-Mauldin and husband Tim, Brenda Holmes Isaac Fuller; and brother-in-law and sister-in-law Jim and Jeanette Placey. She was predeceased by a granddaughter Cora Lyn Holmes; a brother Raymond Miles; and two sisters Marcia Harmer and Diane Mayhew.
A memorial service will be held Tuesday morning, February 19th at 11:00 AM at the Christ United Methodist Church in Lancaster. Reverend Richard Boyden, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in the spring in Northumberland Cemetery.
