LUNENBURG - Joan I. Lamotte, 75, of Main Street, died Thursday, September 13, 2018, at the Jack Byrne Center at Dartmouth Hitchcock after a battle with cancer.

Joan was born in Barrington, RI, on April 14, 1943, the daughter of Walter A. and Dorothy Irene (Pollard) Bouchard. She was raised in Lancaster, NH, moving to Lunenburg when she married Louis H. Lamotte.

For a time Joan worked at local shoe shops and mills but most of her life she has been a caregiver. For 20 years she worked at the Country Village Nursing Home in Lancaster and for the remainder of her years was a wonderful private caregiver.

Joan loved many things in life including beaches and Dunkin Donuts but her all time favorite pastime was casino gambling.

Surviving family members include her husband Louis of Lunenburg; two sons David Lamotte and his wife Kathleen of Bridgwater, MA, Kelvin Lamotte of Lunenburg; two sisters, Pearle Morancie and Dave of Whitefield, Mary McCullock and husband Frank of Lancaster; a sister-in-law Shirley Bouchard of Groveton; 4 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son Kim Lamotte in 2008 and a brother Walter Bouchard in 2017.

Visiting hours will be held Sunday evening September 16 from 4:00 to 6:00 PM at the Bailey Funeral Home in Lancaster. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday morning at 11:00 AM at All Saints Church in Lancaster. Reverend Matthew Schultz, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be at a later date in Calvary Cemetery, Lancaster.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made in her memory to the Jack Byrne Center, 1 Medical Center Drive, Lebanon, NH 03766.
