John Sherman Rich Sr.

Groveton, NH- John Sherman Rich Sr., 82, passed away on Sunday July 15 at Concord Hospital after a lengthy illness. He was born in Whitefield on June 2, 1930 a son to the late Nelson and Adrienne (Gonthier) Rich.
John lived most of his life in Groveton and graduated from Groveton High School in 1949. He drove truck for many years for the family business and served in the Marines from 1952-54. For 32 years he was employed at the Groveton Paper Mill and was a Director for the Gropaco Federal Credit Union for over 35 years. John enjoyed woodworking and gardening and was very well known for his bird houses and feeders as well as his pumpkins.
He was pre deceased by his parents, his wife Mary (Kenney) Rich, two sisters Corinne Kennett and Barbara Rich and one brother Leo Rich. He is survived by his son John Rich Jr., of Groveton, his daughter Kathy Dubois and her husband Andy of Lancaster, a grandson, Nicholas Dubois, and several nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are invited to attend graveside service on Friday July 20 at 10 AM in the Northumberland Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Groveton Food Pantry, P.O. Box 247 Groveton, NH 03582.
