GROVETON - Karen Merrow, 59, of Central Ave., died Saturday, December 24, 2016, at the UMass Memorial Hospital in Worcester, MA, as a result of recent injuries.
Mrs. Merrow was born in Middletown, CT, on May 31, 1957, the daughter of Roger William and Betty E. (Withers) Montgomery. As a youth her family moved to Contoocook, NH and later to Groveton.
In 1975 she graduated from Groveton High School and then attended White Mountain Technical College in Berlin where she learned to be a draftsperson. For 37years she was employed as a draftsperson for Lee F. Carroll P.E. Electrical Consultants in Gorham. On May 26, 1984 she married Scott Merrow. Karen enjoyed gardening, travel, camping and working on a computer.
Family members include her husband Scott of Groveton; her mother Betty of Groveton; a sister Donna Stinson and husband Robert of Groveton; two brothers, William Montgomery and wife Roberta of Whitney, TX, Richard Montgomery and wife Robin of Stark; and many nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and great-great-nieces and nephews who all knew her as "Auntie". She was predeceased by a sister Susan Suda in 2008 and her father in 2015.
A memorial service will be held Friday morning, April 28th at 11:00 AM at the United Methodist Church in Groveton. Interim pastor Rev. Dr. Philip Polhemus will officiate. Burial will follow in Northumberland Cemetery.
