Katherenne E. "Kay" Bean

December 16, 1932 — July 27, 2007

GILMAN - Katherenne E. "Kay" Bean, 74, of Jefferson Ave., died Friday morning July 27, 2007, at the Country Village Genesis Eldercare Center, Lancaster.

Mrs. Bean was born in Stannard, VT, on December 16, 1932, the daughter of Adolphus and Gertrude (Colbeth) Gonyaw.

Raised in the Greensboro, VT, she moved to the Lunenburg in her teens and then to Gilman in the early 70's. For a time she worked at the Gilman Paper Mill, was an area Avon representative, and installed wallpaper as a side occupation. For many years she was employed at MKF manufacturing in Whitefield where she worked as a stitcher.

Kay enjoyed the outdoors and loved to go camping and fishing. She also enjoyed crossword puzzles, reading, and visiting many of the area senior centers.

She was a member of the Lunenburg Methodist Church.

Family members include a son David Bean of Wasilla, Alaska; two daughters, Donna Whiting of Lunenburg, Dina Gunnip of Gilman; a brother Randolph Gonyaw Sr. of Websterville, VT; a sisters Evangeline "Honey" Thompson of Milo, Maine; two close cousins, Forrest Degreenia and Margaret Smith; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by a daughter Debbie Knudson; her husband Wayne E. Bean; and a brother Roger Gonyaw.

At Kay's request there are no visiting hours. A graveside service will be held Saturday, August 4, at 11:00 AM, in the Riverside Cemetery, South Lunenburg. Rev. Gerry Piper of West Danville will officiate.
