GROVETON- Kathleen L. Cassady, 33, of Dean Brook Drive, died Thursday January 3, 2008, at Weeks Medical Center, after a lengthy illness.
Mrs. Cassady was born in Lancaster, NH on April 10, 1974, the daughter of James K. and Susan M. (Blay) MacKillop Sr.
Katie was a 1993 graduate of White Mountain Regional High School. She attended Lyndon State College, transferring to the New Hampshire Community Tech. College in Berlin, were she graduated with an associates degree in accounting, serving her apprenticeship with the Town of Lancaster. Her employment included working at Rite Aid, the Town of Littleton as a receptionist and Deputy Tax Collector, for the Town of Groveton as acting Town Clerk and later Town Clerk. She then returned to Littleton were she worked as a receptionist to the Welfare Director and more recently worked at the Dept. of Motor Vehicles in Berlin.
Kathleen enjoyed bird watching, puzzles and especially traveling with her family. She will be deeply missed and always remembered as being very happy, always supportive and focused on helping others.
Her family members include the parents James and Susan of Lancaster, her husband of seven years, Glenn Cassady of Groveton, a stepson Joseph Cassady and her three daughters, Samantha, Whitney and Kaitlin Cassady all of Groveton; two brothers James K. MacKillop Jr. of Fort Hood, Texas and Jeremy MacKillop of Lancaster and several loving aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Memorial visiting hours will be held, Friday January 11, from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the Bailey Funeral Home, Lancaster. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday at 10:00 AM at the Lancaster Congregational United Church of Christ, Rev. Virginia Alvarez, pastor, will officiate.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made in her memory to Weeks Medical Center Oncology Dept., Middle Street, Lancaster, NH 03584
