LANCASTER - Kevin J. Truland, 58, of Middle Street, died Monday evening May 12, 2014 at Weeks Medical Center, Lancaster, after a lengthy illness. He was surrounded by family and friends.
Mr. Truland was born in Lancaster on July 5, 1955 the son of Daniel J. and Shirley (Moulton) Truland. He was raised in Lancaster and served a 20 career with the United States Air Force. During that time he was stationed in Lackland, Texas, Bolixi, Mississippi, Wurtsmith, Michigan, Loring AFB, Maine and Kadena Air Base in Okinawa. Returning home worked at Martin's Agway in Lancaster for 5 years.
Kevin's interests included building and flying radio controlled airplanes, basket making and Harley Davidson motorcycles.
He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Colleen E. (Corrigan) Truland of Lancaster; his son Matthew K. Truland of Lebanon; three brothers, Bruce Truland and wife Yao of Lancaster, Earl Truland and wife Sharon of Riverhead, NY, Alan Truland of Magalloway, Maine; three sisters, Lynnette Siteman and husband Frank of Winchester, MA, Maureen Ingerson of Lancaster, Kathy Truland of Lancaster and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents.
Visiting hours will be held Friday evening, May 16, from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at the Bailey Funeral Home, Lancaster. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday afternoon at 1:30 PM at All Saints Church, Lancaster. Reverend Matthew Mason, pastor, will officiate. Burial with military honors will follow in Summer Street Cemetery, Lancaster.
