LANCASTER, NH /JEFFERSON, NH- Lawrence A. Burt Sr., 87, died at his home on Saturday August 2, 2008.
Mr. Burt was born in Berlin, NH on December 17, 1920, a son of Albion and Nellie (Powell) Burt.
Lawrence was a graduate of Berlin high School. He served with the United States Navy, decorated in his service during WWII. After the war he made his home in Lynn, MA where he raised his family and a 43 year career as a jet engine mechanic for General Electric. After retirement he moved to his summer home in Jefferson. He enjoyed fishing and hunting.
He was a member of Masonic Lodges in Lynn, MA and also the Odd Fellows in Lynn.
Family members include his wife Ethelyn (Mortenson) Burt of Lancaster, four sons, Lawrence Burt Jr of Lynn, MA, John Burt of Twin Mountain, NH, James Burt and his wife Marilyn of Whitefield, NH and Steven Burt of Lancaster, NH, one daughter Donna Tameo and her husband Robert of Peabody, MA, and 6 grandchildren, a sister Dorothy Keene and her husband Delbert of Berlin, NH and a sister in-law Eleanor Burt of Lynn, MA. He was predeceased by, his brother Carleton Burt.
